Tyrus Thomas and Interviews

When the 2006 NBA Draft was being conducted, I wanted the Bulls to take Brandon Roy to be the big guard that the Bulls so terribly needed. At the time, we had too short Ben Gordon and not much taller Kirk Hinrich. Instead, the Bulls believed in the athleticism of the pogo stick known as Tyrus Thomas. I think it's fair to say that Tyrus has been a disappointment thus far in his career.

However, this is going to be the year that Tyrus will start playing up to his abilities and show why the Bulls believed in him. Now, I'm not going to say that he's going to average 18 and 12. But, I can see Tyrus averaging 14 and 10. And considering that the Bulls still have no inside presence, those are respectable numbers. The Bulls finally have a point guard that can get up and down the court and that's what Tyrus does best. Get him in the open court where he can use his athleticism and good things will happen.

Off topic, Chris Berman is going to interview Obama and McCain on Monday and the interviews will be aired during halftime of the MNF game. While I'm not a big fan of the interviews in general, I'm more concerned about the nicknames that Berman is trying to come up with right now for both candidates. I can easily see Berman coming up with John "Sugar" McCain or Barack "Steady" Obama. Here's a better idea, get Erin Andrews to do the interview. Who doesn't love Erin Andrews?
